Research Focus

Research on the mechanical behaviour of metallic high temperature materials for jet engines, power plants and internal combustion engines, i.e.:

  • Steels for boilers and steam turbines, interconnectors in solid oxide fuel cells and for exhaust gas piping;
  • Ni-superalloys for gas turbines and cast Al-alloys for pistons and cyclinder heads of Diesel engines,
  • Reactive Air brazed joints between metallic an ceramic materials
  • Gigacycle fatigue of metallic materials
  • Ceramic thermal barrier coating systems for gas turbines
  • Ceramic materials for gas separation, i.e. BSCF and LSCF
